It’s been a long time since I’ve written about the things I’ve been doing here in Chicago.  Hmmmm … Let’s take a trip down memory lane.

First stop: St. Patrick’s Day

Well that was a long time ago so let me just retrieve it from the archives of my memory.

It was a day full of green.  People were wearing green necklaces, shirts, hats … funny hats (almost jester-like).  They say beer is usually served for free but we didn’t see it being handed out, though I think the streets were a testimony to that.  For the first time, Chicago streets weren’t so clean.

We went to see the parade for St. Patrick’s day.  It wasn’t much of the glamour and theatrics I was used to especially with Philippine festivals but it had a few interesting floats and personnas especially the pope in green robes on rollerskates!  Too bad my frozen fingers weren’t fast enough to capture a shot of the green robes on rollers.

Second stop: Hooters

Now what else did we do? Oh yes, we had to send off two fellow MSKM fanatics. :)  Goodbye Sonny and Mark! Ingatz kayo lagi sa Pinas.  You’ll be able to see Jackie and Eli real-time.

Third stop: Best Buy

Now for this memory item let’s keep everything anonymous. :)  Someone said that the Best Buy in Clark was just 10 minutes from Sterling (where we lived).  As we were walking and walking and walking (for an hour to be exact), we realized it must have been a 10-minute drive and not a 10-minute walk!  We walked 2.57km going there.  Besides the long walk, the freezing cold was torturous.  But it was a good exercise (hehehe)!  Got our blood pumping.

Fourth stop: Adler Planetarium

We got our City Pass and vowed to go through all the five museums for the next nine days.  The City Pass is a discounted entrance fee rate for all the museums.  It also serves as a VIP Pass but the validity is only for nine days.  Research went into what buses and trains to take.  As is expected :), our projected schedule was not met so we were only able to go to Adler Planetarium.  Hmmmm… it was only interesting because of the photo-ops that we did there.  There were clothes on the racks and we took them and dressed ourselves up for the photo-ops.

Well the bus stops here for now.  Keep you posted on our escapades next week! As we have four museums more to go.  Keeping our fingers crossed that we make it.
