It is said that in an average lifetime, you would have spent a total of about six years of it dreaming. That is more than 2,100 days spent in a different realm!
Another interesting fact … 1/3 of your life is spent sleeping! I can attest to this. And I think most of my friends can attest to this (mga kaibigan ang palusot natin ay kung weekends lang naman tayo natutulog!).
I have always been fascinated by dreams because I usually remember my own deams even after I wake. But during the course of the day, the dream gradually fades and becomes hazy. Though there are certain dreams that remain to this day …
It is said that everybody dreams. Simply because you do not remember your dream does not mean that you did not dream. Probably the reason behind this is five minutes after the end of the dream, half the content is forgotten. After ten minutes, 90% is lost. At eto pa … Dreamers who are awakened right after REM sleep, are able to recall their dreams more vividly than those who slept through the night until morning. Nabasa ko po ang mga sinasabi ko at hindi ito mga kathang isip lamang. ![]()
Sometimes our dream may be so intense that we sometimes confuse a dream for reality or vice versa especially when we’re awakened from our sleep. I know this has happened to me and this has happened to Tipoy too! I remember the time when I woke him because he accidentally fell asleep on the couch while watching TV. Know what he said? “Wala na sabaw?” Hahaha! Or somewhere along those lines.
Now other important facts about dreams:
1. Blind people do dream. Whether visual images will appear in their dream depends on whether they where blind at birth or became blind later in life. But vision is not the only sense that constitutes a dream. Sounds, tactility, and smell become hypersensitive for the blind and their dreams are based on these senses.
2. Men tend to dream more about other men, while women dream equally about men and women. - Bading tendency???
3. Physiologically speaking, researchers found that during dreaming REM sleep, males experience erections and females experience increased vaginal blood flow - no matter what the content of the dream. In fact, “wet dreams” may not necessarily coincide with overtly sexual dream content.
4. If you are snoring, then you cannot be dreaming - Ahem ahem! May tinamaan ba?! ![]()
