Jucyn celebrated her birthday last September 18.  Yeah, this post is long overdue.  In fact, Ailyn’s birthday has just come and gone but I still haven’t posted pictures from Juk’s birthday.

To Jucyn: the lonely girl whose silhouette stood out in one of our sunset shots at Pagudpod, this post is for you.  hahahaha!

We had dinner at Mom and Tina’s the weekend after Jucyn’s bday.

Trivia: the yellow tripod that Jucyn is holding is a placeholder for Analou and Vince.  Guys, you were with us in spirit.  Jucyn wishes to thank you for the imported flowers. :)  Though I believe she received flowers from someone else (someone special … hehehe … hmmmm), the flowers we sent were one of her day’s highlights. Naks! wink wink.

Shangrila Mactan

Sunday
Oct 12,2008

During our short-lived Cebu vacation, we wanted to stay at Shangrila Mactan but it was truly an “out-of-our-budget experience” when we inquired about the rates.  Hahahaha!  At a company rate, they offered 13K for an overnight stay for two persons.  At a local rate they offered it at 7.9K (for 2 persons).  This would have been enough to have truly turned us off the whole thing but we’ve received great reviews from friends and from the net on the “Shangrila Mactan” experience. So we inquired about their day-trip.  The cost was 2K per person but was inclusive of: use of the beach, the pool, towels, and a lunch buffet at Tides.  These sounded reasonable especially when we heard of the lunch buffet so off we went to Shangrila Mactan.

Ajo Ong – Yang’s wedding

Ajo Ong is known as our (seesters) “mother” in the sense that we look on to her to break the “curse” of singlehood. Hahaha! I think Chin already broke it but I prefer to think of Chin as an exception (a special case since she met the love of her life outside of the country).  Anyway, it was last October 5 that Ajo celebrated her break-out of the bonds of singlehood. Congratulations Ajo!!!!

The event was almost like a dorm get-together.  It was a different experience.  One where you see a familiar face you couldn’t put a name to but you smile and wave like you do. :)  One where you see your old friend’s crush…. Hahaha!  Too bad I don’t have pictures of people other than ourselves (seesters plus brother Fred) and the newly weds.  It was really odd that we never thought of having our pictures taken with the other dorm friends of Ajo.  Too late for that now …

twas kewl to plan out the areas that I’ll be covering as it was my first time for this church … and a kewl experience to check out the halls which is big as well as the design of the ceiling which makes Ng.Stella’s wedding really awesome … btw, not really sure if its part of Taculing or Mansilingan (quite an irony as I’m a Bacolonio’s and dont know this stuff, bwahahaha)

after 6years and 7months, I’ll be saying goodbye to GXS … the company that has contributed a big part of my growth both professionally and as a person that I am right now, mainly because of the support of friends and peers … well, lets just say its time to move and sail to a new journey over the horizon ;)

anyway, found this video on my archives which was taken December of 2004 … the video was produced by us for our Christmas party presentation mainly because the majority in our group will not be able to make it to the party due to support work … to all ex-GXS’ians and to those remained to this day, hope this brings good memories to the golden years of GXS :D

For some weird reason, I feel like typing my day away so blogging … here I come! :) Kidding aside, just wanted to share some more wedding pics with you (Tia Tame’s wedding … also known as Stella).

Note: Steve hasn’t processed the pics yet and so these are a bit raw.

Curly Lou

Saturday
Sep 13,2008

I’ve always been wanting to curl my hair.  Mother dearest has always been against it.  But somehow the winds changed when I suggested it again (though of course she has no control over what I do with my hair, I just wanted her approval). Perhaps it was the influence of Kim Chiu in the TV Series “My Girl,” that she allowed me to perm my hair.  Don’t know how long this would last but I’ve had it for two weeks now.  As long as I don’t comb it, it would last longer (stylist’s advice).  Hahaha!  I love it because no matter how hard the wind blows, I don’t have to comb my hair.  I just shake it out.  It’s unruly and fluffy so it somehow compensates my already limp and lifeless straight hair.

Of course I took a picture of myself.  Vanity vanity … bwahahaha!

Tia Tame’s wedding

Saturday
Sep 13,2008

There’s been a lot of clamour to have some wedding pics posted. Unfortunately Steve and I didn’t have the time yet to post it but here are some highlights of the wedding day:

1. Beautification started at 730am at L’Fisher hotel. Yep, bridesmaids were included too.

2. Pre-wedding pictorials took place at 11am.

with the cute flower girls

3. Wedding at 2ish pm.

Highlights:

- Wedding took place at St. Jude Church.

- The entire entourage waited for the bride at the altar while she marched down the aisle.

- The bride entered the church in a gust of smoke. Yep, literally speaking, may smoke effect pa ang pagpasok ni Tia Tame.

4. Reception at Sanctuario soon after

- The sounds of the drums heralded us from afar.

- It was truly a beach theme from the entrance of the welcoming drummers (don’t know what to call them) to the facade of a boat with a beach chair.

- The entire place was of under the water theme too! Complete with the reflection and all. The cake is not to be left unnoticed, it was truly beachy (pardon the pun). It was really great!!!!

- The highlight of the entire thing was the first dance. Really never expected a choreographed dance from Tia Tame and Noel. But what surprised everyone was midway through their ballroom dance was the street dance moves they pulled on us. I was half-scared and half-cheering for Tia Tame as she did her street dance given the three-inch heels and the heavy gown she was wearing.

- The night ended with three bands playing for the guests. It was really fun to see the guests dancing and enjoying the night with the newly weds.

I’ve posted some of the pics. Enjoy! More pics to follow once Steve or I find time. :) Read the rest of this entry »
