woohooo!!! this Sunday, Jack Bauer is back in the air for another action-packed tv hit series from Fox, 24 Redemption … the season premiere will be a 2hr special and gonna be cool as I’ll watch it LIVE!!!

hhhm, last time it was the 1st black President which currently a reality … but this time will be a 1st female President … will this be a reality as well in the future? … well, anything is possible

Zacuto Kit Turns Video DSLRs Into Cheapo Movie Steadicams

so what do you think guys?, hehehe … with D90 or 5D MII we might(?) be creating more wedding videographers with our DSLR’s, nyahahaha … but I believe this will be available by mid-Nov

Redrock’s “cinematizing” kit stirred up some attention last week with its bolt-on professional movie-camera-alike zoom controls and lens hoods for video DLSRs, and now Zacuto has something similar to offer. The camera sits up front in this rig, with the same kind of light controlling barn doors, fine focus and zoom controls, but this system has a video monitor and a structural beam that goes past the user’s shoulder, over an adjustable pad, with counterweights behind, making the whole thing act a little like a steadicam. The system’s customized for Canon’s 5D Mark II and Nikon’s D90, as you may expect, but fledgling videographers’ll be disappointed that there’s no pricing available yet

my 1st trip outside my room

well as the title it my very 1st trip outside my room since yesterday, hahaha … mainly because I wanted my body not to feel jetlag, hahaha

anyway, wanted to be out not just coz wanted to feel like I was in the US but because Im lacking salt, pepper, soy sauce, and few other stuff that could help me cook food much better, hahaha … I cooked the pasta Malou posted but it was tooo bland as there’s no salt nor oil to keep the pasta unsticky, hehehe.

Steve is at Portland. Thank goodness for the wonders of present technology, we had a video call through Skype. He seems to be settling very well as he already cooked spaghetti for his very first meal. His image through Skype really made me laugh. Well you can’t blame him because it was his very first meal of the day (lunch and dinner in one).

By the title itself … yes, someone is leaving on a jet plane. This time it isn’t me but Steve. Huhuhu. He’ll be gone for almost two months. He’s flying to Portland this Friday. I know two months will be over before we know it but still the same I just want to whine. Huhuhu.

Now that I got that out, I just wanted to share the song that Steve and I created while I was in Chicago.

Jucyn’s bday

Jucyn celebrated her birthday last September 18. Yeah, this post is long overdue. In fact, Ailyn’s birthday has just come and gone but I still haven’t posted pictures from Juk’s birthday.

To Jucyn: the lonely girl whose silhouette stood out in one of our sunset shots at Pagudpod, this post is for you. hahahaha!

Trivia: the yellow tripod that Jucyn is holding is a placeholder for Analou and Vince. Guys, you were with us in spirit. Jucyn wishes to thank you for the imported flowers. Though I believe she received flowers from someone else (someone special … hehehe … hmmmm), the flowers we sent were one of her day’s highlights. Naks! wink wink.

Shangrila Mactan

During our short-lived Cebu vacation, we wanted to stay at Shangrila Mactan but it was truly an “out-of-our-budget experience” when we inquired about the rates. Hahahaha! At a company rate, they offered 13K for an overnight stay for two persons. At a local rate they offered it at 7.9K (for 2 persons). This would have been enough to have truly turned us off the whole thing but we’ve received great reviews from friends and from the net on the “Shangrila Mactan” experience. So we inquired about their day-trip. The cost was 2K per person but was inclusive of: use of the beach, the pool, towels, and a lunch buffet at Tides. These sounded reasonable especially when we heard of the lunch buffet so off we went to Shangrila Mactan.

The beach was clean, the water was crystal clear and the sand was white as a man-made beach can be. When you venture towards the water, I would suggest that you wear aqua shoes. Our feet had bruises because of the corals we had to walk through. The fishes (for the animal enthusiasts) were “fabulous”. They were tourist friendly indeed!!!! Much to my panic. We didn’t have food with us but they swarmed all around us (schools of them) even at waist-deep water!!!! I wasn’t able to mask my screams of panic when they followed me even as I walked away.

Shangrila had several pools but we stayed at the pool which was three feet deep with lounge chairs immersed in water because the pool for adults was already crowded with those playing water basketball and soccer. It was a nice experience squirting water with the water guns that they had at the pool area but I still say I prefer lounging at the beach and sleeping it off.

Okay let’s get to the good part … FOOD! I would say I looked forward to this the entire day because I heard so much about Shangrila’s food. The food was great but I expected more from the selection. I guess I expected the food selection to be almost the same as Circles of Shangrila Makati. But needless to say we truly enjoyed the appetizers and the dessert!!!!
