Ajo Ong is known as our (seesters) “mother” in the sense that we look on to her to break the “curse” of singlehood. Hahaha! I think Chin already broke it but I prefer to think of Chin as an exception (a special case since she met the love of her life outside of the country).  Anyway, it was last October 5 that Ajo celebrated her break-out of the bonds of singlehood. Congratulations Ajo!!!!

The event was almost like a dorm get-together.  It was a different experience.  One where you see a familiar face you couldn’t put a name to but you smile and wave like you do. :)  One where you see your old friend’s crush…. Hahaha!  Too bad I don’t have pictures of people other than ourselves (seesters plus brother Fred) and the newly weds.  It was really odd that we never thought of having our pictures taken with the other dorm friends of Ajo.  Too late for that now …

Ajo arranged our stay at Cebu.  She housed us at the Golden Prince hotel which was near the Ayala Center.  The hotel was clean and was good enough for those wishing to stay in Cebu at a budget.  It was around 1.6K a night for a standard room (good for two - three people).

Ajo’s wedding was at the Sacred Heart Church and the reception was Grand Convention Center but the wedding and the reception were three to four hours apart so we had to kill time while waiting for the reception.  We donned our casual clothes and went off to the Walk were we resto-hopped.  Appetizers at one resto and dessert at another.  Truly a tummy-filling experience (note: we still had dinner ahead with the reception but we were on our vacation mode so we paid no heed to warning bells of our subconscious).

The reception was a bit different from the weddings I’ve been to so far. :) It had more than a thousand guests (yep truly a big one given that the steel queen and the bihon king have joined their empires).  But despite the number of guests, glad to have seen and talked to our long-time friend Ajo. :)  Still the same old Ajo but with a different spark of happiness in her eyes.

… other parts of the reception, I prefer to remain unsaid.  So Ailyn, Ivy and Rhiza, just don’t comment. :p
